KipperTool® Contamination Sign Kit: CBRN, M328 was produced to improve CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) hazard marking by increasing day and night visibility, making the system easier to emplace, and compatible with current load bearing equipment. 

KIT HIDMS-CC helps improve visibility of hazards with the use of highly reflective marking flags and randomly flashing beacons which outline the contaminated area. The beacons are designed to rotate in the wind for improved wind resistance. The beacons contained in the kit are provided in infrared only and white visual light designs. The visual light beacon is frosted to diffuse the light so that it can be seen at a wider angle of incidence than would be the case with an uncoated design. Small chem lights are used for short term marking of passages, bypasses, control points, and related key points. The survey tape is used to mark exclusion areas by connecting the masts. The masts are lightweight aluminum extruded assemblies with hardened purpose designed tips and elastic on the inside to ease assembly. Tie-down straps are included to secure flags to fences, trees, and other features when required. 

The Contamination Sign Kit contains enough components for a typical mission. However, there may be a need to order additional parts depending on mission requirements. The major components of the kit include masts, marking flags, mounting clips, chemiluminescent lights, flashing white light and IR beacons, adapter clips to make liquid detection points using M8 paper, markers for annotation on the flags, and a tool for mast emplacement in hard ground.
